55% of HEB ISD students come from homes that are economically disadvantaged. Operation Back 2 School provides these students with a new backpack and school supplies while connecting their parents with resources that help them all year long.
You can help a student start the year off right for just $35. You can also “adopt” a whole classroom for $700.

We need approximately 1,000 volunteers to be able to serve the families. It is an amazing experience to be able to hand a child their favorite color backpack and see their eyes light up! Check out this description of each volunteer role if you want to know more.
$35 provides school supplies and a backpack to a student who is economically disadvantaged. A donation of $140 provides for 4 students.
If your church, social service, business, organization or other entity would like to be a part of the social services fair, please hit the above button and submit the attached form. Keep in mind these exhibits are targeted towards those who are struggling financially; please, only free or low-cost services.
The recipient children have been identified and pre-registered through the HEB ISD Office of School Improvement. Application instructions are sent home with qualifying children in early April. We purchase the school supplies in bulk to maximize funds. Each “kit” is built to specifications provided by our partners in HEB ISD.
