What is God Doing in Your Life today?

What happens when people listen for God's voice in their day-to-day work? There is a couple who have been organizing the Euless Revitalization renovations over the past year. Just the other day, a woman approached the couple and said her children are grown and she likes to cook and she'd like to know if there is someone she could help care for within the ER project.

The next day, a woman who is fighting cancer, and who is an ER recipient approached the couple and said she, and her elderly mother, could use some help around the house right now. As it turns out, the woman who wants to provide help lives just around the corner from the person who needs some help. God is orchestrating events even when we don't realize it. And, everyone involved is blessed.

Thanks to Lowe's for donating a Tiller for us to use in the Euless Revitalization project! And - thanks to the previous ER recipients who are "paying it forward" this weekend! Many are involved in helping others this year. One previous ER recipient has volunteered to plow at 10 houses so the soil will be ready for our Volunteer Landscapers on Friday and Saturday.

Congratulations! The City of Euless provided the volunteers of 6 Stones the "Volunteer of the Year Award." And, our Pastor recently received a Volunteer Award from the HEB Council of PTAs as well. We are so thankful for all of you who have offered your time, talent and contributions. You have made a huge impact in our community. And, 2010 promises to offer more opportunities. Way to go!

Our volunteers are the best!

New Hope Center - provided food, clothing and some furniture to 10,000 HEB residents
Euless Revitalization - 20 homes renovated and countless lives impacted
1st Annual Golf Tournament - which benefited Euless Revitalization
Back-to-School Festival - backpacks and school supplies provided for 1300 children
Night of Wonder - hundreds of adopters provided meals and Christmas presents for 1180 children
Clubhouse Kids - apartment ministry provided fun-filled summer activities for children

Now is the time for all good men (and women) to come to the aid of Euless Revitalization. You won't want to miss this opportunity to participate in the ER Blitz on March 12-13. Over 430 people (youth and adults) participated in FBCE Revolution Weekend over the Valentines Day weekend. The guys went out into the neighborhoods gathering canned goods then brought them to restock the shelves for the 6 Stones New Hope Center.

The girls worked in the warehouse sorting, hanging and labeling sizes on all the clothing. What a huge help to us! You guys and girls are awesome!

Twenty-nine youth and 14 adults from First Baptist Hurst went out into the community January 16 to gather food, then brought it to 6 Stones New Hope Center and stocked our shelves!

What a lunch is right!

(Not to mention the BBQ was incredible as always...thank you North Main).

It's amazing to think what has transpired in two years and one week. That is how long it has been since Ken Harp, Executive Pastor / Restoration Church and I met with the City of Euless to unveil an idea. An idea that became Euless Revitalization.

On Wednesday, there were almost 180 people at The Mayor's Lunch to hear about what has transpired with Euless Revitalization and what is ahead. Check out this picture of the workday at 105 Fannin Drive this past Saturday. Thank you, Metroplex Chapel for all your efforts! It has been a big project, and it is almost complete.

Special thanks to Wes & Dianne Higdon, (on left) Volunteer ER Coordinators for 6 Stones. We need to schedule one more day to finish up on paint, and if you'd like to join us this Saturday, January 23, at 9 am...we'd love to have you! Please let us know if you can make it ... DWRedo@sbcglobal.net.

By the way, we'll be hosting a Euless Revitalization meeting on January 27 to discuss what's been accomplished and talk about what's next. Be in prayer for all who have been involved with the ER project. The City of Euless invited the cities of Bedford and Hurst to the meeting and the County Commissioner has invited the cities of Keller, North Richland Hills, Richland Hills & Watauga to come see what it's all about. State Representative Todd Smith is also expected to attend.

And mark you calendar for March 12 &13. We are planning the next two-day blitz like we did last June. We'd love for you to come give us a hand to kick off spring break! Stay tuned.
