Cindy Jones
Board Chair
Cindy Jones (aka “CJ”) is a seasoned marketing and brand strategies expert with more than 30 years of experience in communications and project management across various industries, including healthcare, hospitals, travel, and non-profit organizations. Currently serving as the CEO of CJTX Consulting, a boutique firm specializing in rebranding and offering LinkedIn, resume and career consultation services, Cindy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table.
In addition to her consulting work, Cindy holds the position of Marketing Content Manager at Vizient in Irving. She holds a master's degree in Public Relations and Business Communications from Abilene Christian University, as well as a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Pre-Law from Hardin Simmons University.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Cindy has a passion for travel, civic leadership and community volunteerism. She and her husband Gary reside in Grapevine, TX, and are proud parents of two grown daughters, Audra and Olivia. Cindy actively participates in the Cross City Church in Euless, further demonstrating her commitment to community engagement and spiritual growth.
With her extensive experience, strategic mindset and dedication to making a positive impact, Cindy is an ideal candidate for the Board Chair position at 6 Stones.
Jim McKinnon
Vice Chair
Jim McKinnon is the Vice President of DFW Plastics, specializing in Marketing & Management, for which he was prepared with his B.B.A. in Marketing with a Management minor from Baylor University. His company, DFW Plastics, is the market leader in Underground Enclosures for the Waterworks Industry in the US.
Jim has been involved with 6 Stones since its inception, and is an active member of Cross Creek Church in Colleyville.
He was raised in Bedford and attended the HEB school system. Jim and his wife, Vickie, live in Colleyville and have two grown children, Ryan and Christine.
Gary McPherson
Secretary
Gary has been involved in the 6 Stones mission since 2013, following a career in Human Resources spanning over 40 years with Lockheed Martin and other high tech. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 2013 as the Vice President – Human Resources for the Missiles and Fire Control business area. For Gary, 6 Stones has provided an opportunity to live out his faith while joining many other like-minded Mid-Cities people in supporting our neighbors and communities in phenomenal ways. He holds a master’s degree in instructional technology from Southern Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree in education/psychology from Taylor University (Upland, Indiana) as well as Mediation and Dispute Resolution Certification from Southern Methodist University. Gary and his wife of 44 years, Heather, have two sons and daughters-in-law, and three grandsons. His interests include travel, culture, and history, reading, volunteerism, and senior sports participation.
Russell Simpler
Treasurer
Russell Simpler is an experienced business owner with over 20 years experience in the landscape industry and commercial real estate investing.
He uses the degree he earned at Tarleton State University in HorticultureBusiness, as he is a partner at and runs the daily operations of Smith Lawn and Tree.
His first involvement with 6 Stones came many years ago through his landscape business, when the need came for help with a CPR Blitz. Smith Lawn and Tree began to donate time, resources, and expertise to CPR events. Since then, Russell and his family have financially supported 6 Stones and volunteered at events. In 2020 he began to serve on the Board of Directors, and the Finance Committee.
Russell enjoys time with his wife of 18 years, Jennifer, and his 3 boys. He is active in the boys’ activities, Bible studies, and band.
Wil Theisen
Governance
Wil Theisen is a husband, father, and a believer in Jesus Christ. He earned a degree in Math Education from the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, MN. His career began as a high school math teacher for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. He then became an actuarial consultant before transitioning to BNSF Railway where he oversees the design and administration of the company’s retirement plans. Wil and his wife moved to Texas in 1994 and have been active members of Cross City Church in Euless for over 25 years. They have been supporters of 6 Stones since its creation and believe it is one of the most straightforward ways for the believer to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Wil’s ministry passion is mentoring. Wil and Lisa, an HEB ISD employee, live in Bedford and have two grown children – Julia and Benjamin, and Simon, a senior at Trinity High School.
