The HEB ISD Back to School Festival is a coalition of churches, social services, school and civic agencies along with the “for profit community” to give those less fortunate a “hand up” in starting the school year off right! Our goal is to supply up to 2000 children, grades K-6, a new backpack and school supplies. Statistics show that at the end of the 2008-2009 School year, 47% of the HEB ISD students come from homes that are classified “economically challenged.” The district has identified 700 children they have classified as “homeless children.”

I just want to say thank you for everyone who helped bring back packs to all the needy children including my own. My husband and I lost our jobs with in days of each other and it has been a struggle finding a new one and trying to provide for my children. But with help from 6 stones and the other sponsers my kids were able to go to school with the basic school supplies. It really does help ease the load I have to bare. I thank god for the people that helped out and pray that each day you are all blessed many times over!
