How many homeless children?  It's unfathomable for our area, but true – 720 have been identified. And you know there are more who haven't been identified.  Dr. Gene Buinger, HEB ISD superintendent, and district employees are doing what they can to reach out to the homeless and the more than 50% who are economically challenged. But in order for our school district employees to effectively teach these children, reach these families, and help break cycles, community involvement is essential.

Thanks so much to those of you who were able to come and hear Gary McKamie, Euless City Manager, and Dr. Gene Buinger speak yesterday.  From the discussion, it is clear that schools, churches, city and country government, businesses and individuals can make a huge difference by working together to address issues and improve the quality of life for all our residents.  That collaboration is exactly what 6 Stones was created to facilitate.

Dr. Buinger said 6 Stones has been an asset to the schools because it has created a one-stop, non-profit organization that in one year has involved 20 to 30 churches to refer students and families. Buinger envisions a cadre of churches and community organizations working together.

Special thanks to all who signed up to get involved at our luncheon yesterday!  For those who haven't yet signed up, please click the links below:
