The Southern Baptist Convention is in town. Over the weekend, churches from across America came to North Texas for Harvest America. Men and women from California, Ohio, and Missouri teamed up with local churches to launch Community-Powered Revitalization (CPR) in Arlington and Everman. As a result of the partnership, 135 volunteers transformed 5 homes.

Everman and ArlingtonĀ join a growing list of communities that have adopted the CPR program. Leaders in both cities are excited about the prospect of partnering with faith-based organizations and churches to move forward. Naturally, Everman is planning another blitz in the fall.

Which makes sense, really. Because working together is almost as Texan as the wide, high prairie sky.
