Equipment Update: We’re Covered!

Thanks to the generous support of local vendors, we're going to have ALL the necessities covered before the season kicks off this Wednesday, January 13th! Both THE Soccer Corner and DICK's Sporting Goods have been immeasurably kind in donating and discounting gear so that we could be sure that every student who takes the field in Liga HEB is properly equipped and protected when playing the game they love.

Because of our partners, each of our 6 Teams will have shinguards for unequipped players, about a dozen high-quality balls, their own pump and a bag for taking care of that equipment. Coaches will also be provided with cones and bibs for practice and game days on which teams are wearing the same color. To further stretch our budget, the Sports Matter initiative and DonorsChoose.org have graciously allowed us a matched-funds campaign, as well.

Visit the Liga HEB proposal page to pledge support of our league and help us secure additional gear and funding. If we can generate half of our $800 funding request, our sponsors will match the rest! That means more shinguards to be sure that every student is completely safe on the field, game-quality balls for match days and an array of equipment to help our volunteer coaches be the best they can for the kids on each of their six teams. All we need is for 40 people to give $10 and we've made it!

Just in time for the first games of the season: we have received word from our friends at the Sports Matter initiative that our program has received full funding. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the campaign, and especially to our volunteer coaches, who make this season possible! We can't wait to get started.
